As the festival draws to a close, there’s still time to enjoy the penetrating softness of Bois de la Bâtie one last time with this third and final session of “acoustic siestas”. Selva Nuda’s delicate and minimalist compositions, carried by her heart-rending voice, anchor us deeply in the earth, as close as possible to our roots, like an unexpected stopover to forget the madness of the world. Armed with a simple guitar, Selva Nuda exposes her dark and light sides with poetry and conviction. Just as mesmerising, Belgian-Congolese singer Imelda Gabs, who lives in Switzerland, has been immersed in music since she was a child, her father being a jazz pianist. She learnt to play the violin and piano and to sing and took the time to forge a musical identity with multiple influences. Dark and melancholic pop or electro-tinged rock? With Imelda Gabs anything can happen, the trees are already quivering… And to round off this gentle afternoon, Vanessa B., after having lost several versions of herself along the way, will return with her accordion under her arm for a musical journey. Who knows what we'll find on the way?
