Classifying Vaud-based artist Chelan in any specific category is no mean feat, so porous are the musical borders that surround his songs! His many influences, from jazz to hip-hop and soul, blend together in perfect harmony in his personal, warm-hearted music. Chelan is as much about smoothness as groove. His tracks are coated with an ethereal atmosphere and draw the audience into his world where the internalisation of feelings leads to the externalisation of thoughts. Released this year, his first EP ORANGE & BLUE is a sharing project, first with the public, but also with other artists invited to put their touch to make this album a dynamic sound experience. Driven by Chelan’s warm voice, the tracks gradually shift from calm depths to bouncier, more high-tempo beats. Naturally, it is in the subdued atmosphere of Le Chat Noir in Carouge that he’ll showcase his latest tunes.
