To speak or not to speak… and if it’s to speak, then how? How to speak about desire? By putting three people together, Lola Giouse has created a group, a soundtrack and put love into words. This Is Not a Love Song is the first part of the Joy Trilogy which questions communication, here the intimate, later friendship and then the collective. The young director fell in love with communication, language and words, especially words, as a teenager, when she discovered Cyrano de Bergerac, whose role she played. She then sat down to the table and began writing for a duo, about sex, feeling, and love perhaps. And in the mouths of Géraldine and Simon, this is transformed into hesitations, stammering, logorrhoea, deep confessions and cries of orgasm in an energetic, sincere, ultra-funny and unavowably liberating crescendo.
