Here is a treasured appointment, the promise of several moments of timeless beauty by German choreographer Hoghe. An Evening with Raimund is an ephemeral performance that brings together danced fragments of his repertoire in order to “revive the wave of humanity and poetry that Hoghe has delicately placed in each of us dancers and audience members”, as Luca Giacomo Schulte, who initiated the project with dancer-choreographer Emmanuel Eggermont, puts it. The revival of the dance scenes is accompanied by the tunes that animated the life of the man who shook up ours. Tchaikovsky, Ravel, Judy Garland, Serge Reggiani, Dalida and Milly, among others, breathe life into the steps of the nine performers with the intensity and rigour that have guided “a life of paying tribute to the beauty of others, of all others”.
