Our parents had promised us happiness and TV success, but glory was not forthcoming. So one day we thought to ourselves: “Let’s go, let’s fall flat on our faces, let’s scratch the little scab, the scar will still be there, a memory of indelible shame”. Anna Lemonaki has collected small failures from performers, actors, dancers and Oscar-winners, who come together to testify in G.O.L.D. to the glory of small dreams. It all began in 1999, when as a child the director watched the Oscar ceremony on television and heard the MC, Whoopi Goldberg, declare that anyone can become a star… Lemonaki believed it.  She has since learned, the hard way and through the experiences of others as much as her own, that life is also made up of large-scale failures.
