There are some shows that you can see with your eyes closed, like Pierre Piton’s Open / Closed. From the very first breath, the air is under tension, bodies thrum. His, with his cheek glued to the wall, ours, sitting on the floor in front of him, and the sounds made by every rustle of his movements, transformed live by Simone Aubert. Who is who in this electric organism? Who is dancing? In this complex set-up of light and sound, the electric or liquid movements of the dancer metamorphose the room into a living organism, transforming the audience into a wave, crossing the walls, disappearing into the floor, sometimes warming you up. Or perhaps it is the other way round. Perhaps we’re here to activate these scenes that animate the space. In this strange experience, immobility is absent. The moving end to an enigma reminds you that everything is but perpetual, and collective movement.
