The first part of our acoustic siestas takes place in the company of Roxane, Argyle and Romano Bianchi in the bucolic setting of the Château de Ferney-Voltaire. A place of tranquillity par excellence, the castle grounds lend themselves perfectly to musical reverie and mind-wandering. Originally from Scotland, Argyle arrived in Switzerland after a stint in Amsterdam and has worked his way from the streets to the stage, drawing his inspiration from the roots of blues, folk and soul. His catchy melodies, deep lyrics and wonderfully gritty voice already sound like promises of sweet melancholic wanderings. Geneva-based Romano Bianchi showcases his neuroses, fears and anxieties with caustic humour to a background of melancholic and psychedelic pop, reinterpreting the legacy of the best ‘60s hits. Barely 20 years old, Roxane has already won over the public in French-speaking Switzerland. Her rock-tinted pop universe is well established, with solid compositions that add a certain form of lightness to her introspective and romantic leanings.
